Why oh why do supermarkets block up the food isles with extra stuff stacked on the floor at the busiest time of the year, when record numbers of people are trying to do their Christmas food shopping.

It’s bad enough having to tolerate being knocked and bumped into by shopping  trolleys being controlled by people with little or no patience, but then I suppose I can somewhat sympathize when the available floor space on which to maneuver the trolleys, that have a mind of their own anyway, has been reduced by 50 bl**dy % .

And then of course you you have to queue at the checkouts to purchase the stuff that has just taken you twice as long to collect.  Ahhhh!!

Still, I detest the places at the best of times. Checkout girl was kinda cute, though.

I'll bet she wasn't barcoded so you couldn't buy her anyway.

Or are they sold by the pound?

The simple answer is that this is a time of year when they stand to make enormous profits.  If they can't supply anything they will lose custom and that could take years to recover from.

If you complain you will be told it's what you want (in more obscure language though).

Because its easier than trying to constantly restock shelves during busy periods (shoppers get in the way)

as far as i know they are stopping at 4pm here, but can still get your stuff after 4pm at store till 7pm in pickup bay.

Was in the Metro Centre yesterday -not that busy,and Tesco today -no where as busy as i thought it would be

I had to ask last night, do people realise the shops are only closed for ONE day?

looking at the receipts , so many times I thought

the sky is falling, the sky is falling, quick get to the shops we need every thing.
its going to snow- get to the shops
going to freeze- get to shops
going to flood- get to shops
the world is going to end- get to the shops
any time somthing happens that would only happen here we get to the shops.
one maybe not be able to get out for a few days, not get a years supply, breed 30 loaves, 100 jars of coffee etc.
its mad there are loads of shops open even at christmas and bank hol's its not the 1930's.

We were there Wednesday, bugs me this place huge shopping mall built on church land and nothing Christian or Father Christmas in the Mall itself, shops yes, mall, just lights and Gnomes and one large reindeer...a none Religious / Christmas theme......PC goes mad again.....

If they are then the one in Range today would have been pretty cheap - she was tiny.. could have stuck her in my pocket and taken her home! Just think how things would have looked in her hands..

I mean.. just think what her personality was like! Yeah. That's what I meant.

(Actually she was bloody gorgeous.. shame I had my parents with me at the time!)
