Yes, advance on advance on advance until nothing left.....which is the case here.

Not even the basic engine config exists

As for the EE lumps, the biggest issue is poor combustion chamber design and the need to run silly low compression ratios in order to get the boost up to deliver the powers and remain competitive.

Hence why they smoke when cold, are a swine to start sometimes whcih is more evident on the higher power ones.

The chain driven cams are an absolute git as well, we have a 20 which is in desperate need of the slack adjusting on the cams (which is having an impact on running) but, there such a swine to get at it keeps getting put off!

For BIG, check out Wartsila-Sulzers ship engines. My favourite big engines include RR Merlin, the Napier Deltic engine, any Scania V8 and the Detroit Diesels, which I think sound fantastic!

But lets not forget the tiddlers too, lol

I cant find the links at the mo Lizzie for the Deltics but there are some good ones out there of Deltics "working", what a sound!

Would love one of those mini V12s mounted on a table in the front room lol! Would also think the mini V12 would smell good too when running lol

 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D, and I would love a full sized Napier engine in my garage!   I'd start it regularly every Sunday morning at 0900; well I would say 0800, but that would be unsocial! ::) ::) ;D ;D ;D ;D ;)

I had the pleasure of a little trip on a c55 (in the cab) and a tour around the internals whilst it was on shed (but still running) at ELR last year.

Very interesting but not even room to swing a cat!

And a total loss oil system so if you have your head out the window and they throttle back, get it in quick!
