Only a biker truly understands why a dog sticks it's head out of the window of a moving car.

This happened about a mile and a half from where Im sat (at work). Horrific and shocking, a lot of shock and sadness among the local community. :(

I daren't make too much of a comment on this thread... I'll end up getting myself banned :-X >:( >:(

My thoughts and wishes to the family of the young lad. I also feel sorry for the owner of the car... He'll probably never drive it again knowing what has happened, even though he did nothing wrong.

As for the Kwik Fit employees involved... I hope they have the book thrown at them! I can think of no genuine reason why a Fast Fit establishment has need to road test a car >:(

I fully agree with you but there are plenty of reasons to road test a car  ie after brake or suspension work to locate noises ect   but if what I've read is true they only fitted tyres on it in which case i hope they get everything the law can throw at them and more if poss.

Now I am not defending them but what it doesn't say is whos  fault the accident was it could have been the boy crossing the road with out checking, stepping out from between cars ect. And the fact it was someone who worked at kwikfit has nothing to do with it.  It could have been any garage (may not have been publicised though) so why blame the company?

At the end of the day a young boy lost his life and my heart goes out to his family and friends  but it was 1 poss 2 individuals NOT the company's fault.

i agree to apoint, but the company will unfortunately get some of the flak.
I wouldn't be surprised though if procedures are now changed at Kwik Fit to ensure it doesn't happen again.
A local Vauxhall dealer was also a Lotus Carlton 'specialist' and it wasn't uncommon at the time to see 2 or 3 LC in there. There were only a few designated drivers of these cars so that this kind of incident hopefully didn't happen.
