actually to address Nickbats point the BBC has a duty to reflect fairly, the attitudes of people in the UK. Now, going by the last General Election, discount the 35% of idiots who couldn't be arsed to vote and therefore have no say in our democracy, you've got a fair and free electorate (albeit influenced by every national newspaper to vote Tory - with 3 exceptions) despite it all, UK voters said that around 55% would rather a left of centre agenda than anything else. Like it or not Nickbat, if the beeb is "leftist" (and it isn't) its only reflecting what we all want as a democracy  8-)

It clearly is, according to at least two respected ex-employees. I suppose you work there part-time and know better, eh, Banjax?   ::) ::)

2 whole people eh?
thats very nearly a percent of the workforce....no, wait, it isnt  :o

how many people have left the beeb and have an axe to grind, and how many have seen this bias? not much in the "conspiracy" column really is it? i'll take my chances that on the whole its far and away the most balanced of any national broadcaster - take a trip to Italy if you want to see what real bias is, presumably you'd only be happy if the news spouted nothing but right-wing hoopla and dogerel with hourly announcents about how climate change is a big lie, theres plenty of oil and the earth has nothing to fear about over population.

you could host it.

yes Nick - I can confirm the horrendous bias in the BBC..lets see:

political editor Nick Robinson was leader of the Oxford University Conservative Association

John Humphrys - avid Daily Mail reader and staunch small c conservative also host of arguably the most influential political show on the beeb

host of daily westminster live - Andrew Neil.......well you know old brillo pads views on unions and his love of Maggie, luckily he doesnt get much grief from the fragrant Michael Portillo on their weekly look at politics either

to be fair, Andrew Marr's fairly lefty but you'd never know it from his Sunday show

what exactly do you think "left-wing" bias means? because intelligent journalists read the Independent?

i've never seen any, and as you admittedly rarely watch the BBC i'll take a wild guess that you havent either Nick  8-)

now it may be confusing to you, but the Independent does run stories and articles highlighting other viewpoints aside from toeing any one political line - thats why i like a read of it with a coffee of a morning.....especially if you're a busy capitilist you can pick up "I" for only 20p which is like a cutdown Indy.

hope this helps  :y
