So sorry chaps (& chap-esses), no longer being a productive member of Society, I completely forgot some of you were still working for a living :-[ ;) No apologies for the content itself however, I thought it caught the mood of the French perfectly myself, but then i'm an old English male chauvanistic mysogynist pig & therefore beyond 'the pale'  ::) ;D ;D
p.s. Thanks for keeping me on the straight & narrow Jimbob  ;D :y

they had to..  this image belonging to "slavery age" must be stopped..

and besides according to some real knowledge its not in religion , added later..

and despite some funny!! claims it has nothing to do with freedom..  >:(

I drive through a area with a large Asian/Muslim community going to & from work. It seems that a veil is almost a fashion item, loads of women wear them.

Since it is not religious I can say this.

It is to hide their beards and moustaches ;D ;D

Well it's a handy way for the wearer to conceal a face like a well-skelped arse (should they have one).

On a prosaic and slightly more serious note however, I think it's unacceptable to allow people to hide their identity in this way in a country where the majority do not practise doing so.

By allowing such behaviour - along with other exhibitions of personal choice - simply means (to me at least) that this country (UK) will descend into a de-facto separatist state where the inclinations of those who choose to be different will be paramount in how the law and generally accepted social convention will be adhered to.

Loyalty to the nation state - before personal choice - is how it really should be.

In other words, if you don't like our rules

Pish off and live somewhere else  ;)
shame we dont have the balls to do the same :y
