Off to the auctions...possibly
« on: 05 June 2007, 23:11:38 »

I may be going to BCA auction on Thursday (spotted something interesting).

I've never been before. I've checked out the buyers guide and am pretty confident that I know what's going on, but I wondered if anyone on here had any useful tips for me.

aye....be at "your car" for it starting and opening....that way you see if it has starting issues etc...also if theres two of you one at the back and one looking in the car when it starts.

Usual checks - heaters on full for hot air, excess wear in the usual places, leaks underneath the car when it idles, follow it when it moves through the auction see if it hangs, pulls and brakes, check coolant etc. Lift boot carpets etc and quick cast over fuse box to see if theres any fuses missing ( common dealer thing...if theres a dash warning light pull the fuse out)

You probably know all that though  ;D
Also the acutions i go to up here ALWAYS stipulate cash at rostrum and balance if you want by card...so take some cash :y

Oh and the obvious tip - keep to your budget.

'dangle berries'. >:(

It was there this morning (03 reg 2.6v6 30k in Star Silver - just what I'm after), but it's been taken off now.

Low mileage MV6 coming up in Bridgwater tomorrow, but that's about as much use to me as a chocolate kettle.

Poo, poo, poo.  :'( :'( :'(

Thanks for the tips, though, Markie

;DI'll upgrade to an MV6 one day but you've done right not to catch auction fever so hang on for the Mig that suits you. [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]

Problem is, my current '95 Miggy needs £s spending to get through its MoT and it needs taxing at the end of this month, so I don't have oodles of time.  :(
