Reflections on September 11th
« on: 09 September 2011, 15:18:03 »

Reason I am on here today is that a business trip to Ivory Coast has just been cancelled (and from there I was going to Hamburg via Paris later next week). I do always seem to be travelling at this time of year - which is not surprising I suppose given the mass return to work and school for most.

At 2pm on 11th September 2001 I was checked in with Mrs at Heathrow bound for New York (en route to Bermuda) and watched the whole thing unfold on TV in Terminal 4. BA kept saying the flight was on time for ages despite the TV pictures.

The faces of disbelief on would be travellers faces were incredible. Took us 3 hours to get out of airport and 2 days later we managed to get a flight to Pisa and took a holiday in Florence/Tuscany.

On Sept 11th 2002 we were flying to Strasburg and planes were empty.

Does not seem like 10 years ago.
