That looks like the one I have. Is it laser? or sealey? Can't remember which of those mine is.

Anyway, it did the job on ClarCE's cam belt or so it seems.

Only thing I felt about it was that the crank locking tool wasn't 100% positive as it was placed on the front of the crank and, with the top clamped round the water pump, the timing mark on the crank looked to have passed TDC by a degree or so.

It would be interesting to check an engine timed with some of these cheaper tools against the genuine article at a cam belt party sometime.

Interestingly, I have previously checked an engine that was previously timed with a Laser kit - using a sealey kit. It was spot on, on both accounts, so I therefore trust the laser one. :y

Would be good to get some feedback on the one you have just bought James after you use it, as i have one on my watch list, seems a good price  :y

Yeah, I'm sure they're OK. It was just an observation, and one made through ClarCE's (broken) bathroom mirror wegded down in front of the crank pulley  ::) The timing marks are only a guide after all and the tool did fit tightly on the crank pulley once the bolt had been screwed down.

The E20 went with the kit - the spanner is still with me (I posted the kit via insured delivery in Devon).

In addition to the spanner, I have your small halfords torx rail, your T55, angle measurer, and a couple of other odds and sods. None of which I really need - I must get over your way - hopefully when helping change your gearbox if we can link in...

Absolutely fine mate, I have my own anyway, yours is just better as it's offset!

I know Dave was talking about visiting Ireland, maybe this weekend - however I finish work at 2pm on Sat / Sun, so I could get over after that....
