« on: 01 November 2009, 21:08:44 »

May as well come straight out with the question--ive had a quick glance to see if its been asked recently and cant see it so---how easy/difficult is it to stick a chevy lump in the omega, im thinking there must be parts that you can buy cos its done in Australia. 8-)

So I'm led to believe, that's the official line.
Apparently, Opel didn't think it would sell. Same reason the UK doesn't get the V6 Antara.

Your opinion and I'm sure shared by many!

Well I liked the Saturn Vue (same as Antara) I had in Florida - V6 power and plenty of it!

Only fraction more than Omega, its a 3.5 as well. They could have done better with the extra cc.

Ugly as hell though

One I drove was a 2.7, 180bhp V6. TC off most of the time.
Excellent on the ruff stuff and I think they look good, but I do have impeccable taste. :y

Ive noticed elsewhere on this forum that someone has stuck a Lexus/toyota 6 cyl lump in an omega, so its probably feasible to stick the 32v 4.0 litre lexus lump in, cos at the moment they are cheap as chips, and a reliable 260 bhp! :D

I think there is a bit a cooling issue at the rear of the engine/bulk head.

No issues with it fitting, just there is a bit of chopping/welding to do and other things like running gear/brakes and susspention to consider whilst doing the upgrde.

this will fit, although will be tight.. and with the rising fuel prices good candidate to be only a weekend car..

You would probably do better to fit either the V6 Jaguar diesel engine (C/W 7 series auto box), or the Jaguar 4.2 V8.

The 4.2 litre STR engine has a supercharger as well giving around 400 proper British BHP at the back wheels.  ;D
