INCORRECT! There is no such thing as the '25 year rule' anymore. President Blair put pay to that!

Only vehicles registared before (stands to be corrected) March 1972 are classed as RFL exempt :y

my daughter got a fine for eighty pounds for not renewing the sorn on a car i sold for her four years ago .i wrote to the dvla explaining to them that i had actualy sold the vehicle .they wrote back and said they had made a mistake and would cancel the fine ! if my daughterhad not told me she would have paid the robbing s*ds . >:( :y

Bloody hell, I've just checked, the bike was first registered in 1959, nearly as old as me. Time I got it going again, before they ban petrol  ;D

Historic/Free VED is applicable on cars manufactured before 1st Jan 1973  ;) ;)

Kind of knew it was around then my 73 MG Roadster was manufactured March 73 didn't find out about the rolling 25 year rule till i'd driven around for a couple of years with no disc in it.

Was only when someone asked me were the exemption disc was that i looked into it. OOPS ;D ;D ;D ;D

Correct, however the vehicle is still required by law to display a valid tax disc if being used on a public road.
