Its a sad day in the Squealey household.
« on: 04 March 2010, 20:28:06 »

Well, you may have read on another thread that I ballsed up big time yesterday by putting unleaded in swmbo's Audi 80 TDi.

Well, cars all sorted and running almost as bad as it always has but whilst underneath it i noticed a few things which will need some work in the near future.

1. Fuel pipes. God knows how its passed its last few mots, are these not included if not on a petrol car? Well the Audis are rotten, proper rotten.

2. Rear pads are about 3mm from being metal to metal.

3. Rear discs are knackered

4. One rear tyre was through to the canvas on the inside edge so looks like it needs a 4 wheel alignment check.

5. Used my last decent spare wheel replacing it so will have to get more tyres soon.

6. Checked the oil and there was nout in there, only done about 700 miles since i last topped it up.

7. Front wheel beearing grumble is getting worse.

And at the end of the day, its turbo is still not working, its paintwork, for the most part, lacks paint, and its just clicked over 181,000 miles so, with the arrival of the Polo which i've been given early next week, its time for the Audi to go :'(

it has been a truely amazing car and i'll be gutted to say goodbye. It cost me £200 3 years ago, has never failled an MOT, never let us down and has ferried all sorts of cr@p up to the tip.

So, next week it will be going on Ebay as spares or repairs. Still has longish MOT and 4 months tax i think. I want to start it at what a scrappy would give me if i were to weigh it in, so im thinking £150 then let it run its course. Its an Audi 80 tdi estate.

Sad, sad day

All i've spent money on in the 3 years are glow plugs:£25, turbo:£40, MAF:£40, complete set alloys with nearly new tyres:£22.

I've spent more than that on the Omega in the past few weeks!!!
