Whats the best way of insuring two cars,mig and saxo.Thing is the missus only has a provisional license at the moment,and wants to be insured in the saxo as a learner driver,but obviously both cars are going to be insured in my name.

Saxo VTR is g16 car, approx £1500 per year for learner driver!!! cant you get a nice 1.2 nova???

cheapest I could find for you on the net is £1350pa for learner driver, woman, at age 26. how old is you and missus???

Negotiate hard on a multicar policy to get yourself full NCD on the 2nd car (you only have NCD on one car, unless you have earned it on 2)

I tried yesterday at adrimal multi car for my omega,plus another omega same engine size first one was 575 and for the second one 1000 total 1575 per year,imho thats just crazy pricing, as i can only drive one at a time,so it looks like ill have to use mine for work aswell as family life.ps tell them shes a nun ,ownes her own home and married(if nuns can get married)then see what the difference in price is ,you will be surpised at the difference

Group 7 bud the vtr,and vts is 14.I have had a quote in my name with her as a named learner driver for £600 some odd,and i am 35,and she is 29,but obviously all my no ncd is on the mig.Just wondering if there was a cheaper way.

tried admiral multicar once, it was cheaper for 2 separate policies with them despite their advertised up to 46% discount.  Have since left them.

Just arranged multi car insurance with Admiral on basis I get Phaeton on Thursday 25th March:

1. Phaeton (3.0 diesel) - £308pa - basis - 12000 miles pa and self and wife
2. Signum - (1.9 diesel) - £317 basis 15000 and self ,wife + extra driver
3. Omega 3.2 - £186 - 4000 miles (in future) just self and wife to drive.

So just over £800 for all 3 with £250 voluntary excess and £100 compulsory excess on each, protected no claims, but only £70 windscreen.

I was with elephant before which is a sister co of Admiral so this eased the transfer.

I went through this about 6 months ago.  I've got a family motor and a commutamobile to pile the miles on.  I got told by company after company that my NCD couldn't be applied to a second car, so ended up at Tesco.  What was even more annoying was that the difference between me being the policy holder with 9 years NCD or my missus being the policy holder with 0 NCD was about 45 quid, and that was 45 quid cheaper if she was the policy holder.
Even more desperate was the wording in the policy (TPFT) was that the car could be driven by the policy holders spouse.  So basically 45 quid difference between whose name goes at the top of the paper.  Stupid.

Im with admiral have my omega in my name..cougar in wifey..and polo in 19yr olds sons they all earn no claims on there own policys and when my son was learning the policy was in his name on a provisional licence with me as named driver it worked out £800 for his and also saved about £300 on the other two aswell..when he passed cost about £30 to change to full licence...if that helps

Whenever I've looked at Admiral Multi-car it's been very expensive compared with normal policies :-/ :-/

why do these insurance companies fill us with so much bullshit.I had a quote not so long back for the saxo with my own insurance on the internet,and when we went in the office,it was dearer.
