Sadly not, difficult to explain but its related tot eh fact that the cast tubes the leads fit through are at an angle.....so when you fit them on the opposite head the angle is the wrong way so stresses them.


To the original poster....were the cam cover gaskets original Vx from a VX dealer or were they another source?

Also was it DIY done or by a garage? Was any sealant used on the bridges, and were the cam covers torqued correctly to 8Nm with a torque wrench?

If the covers have been replaced with known good ones, I suspect the issue is either workmanship or substandard parts to be honest  :'(

.. or the breathers aren't really clear from end to end. I know they've been checked, etc, but  something is wrong. ;)

If everything else is completely spot on, then would it be worth totally removing the breather, taking it apart and looking inside and maybe giving it a proper clean?
Also, have you squirted some carb cleaner in it when changing the gaskets?
OK, you'd need an oil change after.

it had the breathers cleaned less than a month ago,new vx gaskets etc fitted by a vx mechanic,trying a set of brand new covers from a gen vx garage/dealer this weekend
