Do be aware that the engine is detuned for use with the Autos (not sure if this changed on the 6 speed)......so if you want full thrutch then you want the manual.

Mark...
does this mean that the manual 'box is a safe bet, even if ex-plod??

Actually quite fancy the estate version!  2.8/3.0 diesel

So the 6sp manual ones are all ok???

If so, why doesn't plod buy all manual ones??

one of the things you used to get with an ex-plod was that it was always manual 'box, what changed their minds?

Think DTM is saying the later 6 speed autos are ok, interesting on the oil cooler failure. Trouble is thats going to be common as most Veccys are fleet owned and serviced, very few are going to have correct maintenance

Yeh but, if you get one that is ok then you change the coolant and maintain it or fit an oil-air cooler  :y

Jobs a good un

And the earlier 5 speed ones are ok (with the exception of the cv joint which does not harm the box) whilst they have no water in them  :y

I'd have the later Veccy if i had to, front end looks much nicer than first generation
