I have had two megane scenics, an auto, and a manual.

Would NEVER buy another one, bought the second one to replace the first, as I thought I might have a "friday afternoon special".
Nope, they are all the same. Sold the second soon after with the same basic faults, coil, clutch, and rev counter that worked ......sometimes, an dthe fuel guage read full on half full.

IMHO avoid them.

I can't comment about the later models directly as never owned one, but my old Renault 4 was an absolute star of a car.

A Renault 5 I had subsequently, on the basis that the 4 was a dream of a pop and fetch car so Renault must be good - was actually a heap of shyte. The ultimate shed.

A mate had a Megane and I must say it felt cramped and extremely plasticy.
