Thanks anyway Lizze, as said I did the journey last night, 22 hours including cross channel crossing to cover 1,120 miles
and the miggy never missed a beat!!!!!!!!
That is impressive running Jim

I have always reckoned that with the Omega, and the Senator before it, you can run them all day and night at 100 mph for mile upon mile, providing they are well maintained..............oh, and with the benefit of an 'in flight' re-fuelling system!!

I averaged 130kph/80mph (as thats the limit) on the continent, 1st leg was Milan to Luxembourg 400 miles non stop and refuel as its a lot cheaper there approx 97p a liter, then non stop to calais, cross the channel then non-stop from Dover to Grantham refuel then non stop to Carlisle via Scotch Corner to drop my passenger off then up to Glasgow all within 22 hours
Bodes well for our trip in less than 8 weeks. Although we've got another 200 miles (ish) on top of your total it will be (mainly) on Italian Toll Roads so should be better to drive.
I reckon we'll have 2 10 hour days from the ferry without pushing it too much. Plan on having a cheap hotel in/near Dunkirk in both directions so we have a fresh start to the continental leg out and time to do some last minute shopping ala cheese eating land on the way back

I take it you're not taking the Mig back down when you next go?
