Even Vaux crank/sens go wrong
« on: 10 August 2010, 20:18:48 »

Replaced my Crank sensor with one from the stealers about 6 months ago and got code 19 again along with huge starting problems!! >:(

I thought these were reliable? problem is I was originally given the wrong one which sat in my boot as a spare for 6 months previous until I came to change it, dealer said no guarantee on it as I had had it so long :(

Just wondering if too much movement on the cable.  I think the concensus is the cables can go brittle....

Had similar experience - brand new Vx crank sensor, routed away from exhaust, lasted a couple of months then failed completely.  Fitted replacement - no issues to date.

I am pretty sure there is a warranty with VX parts maybe worth a phone call. :y

Worth sh*t Daz - when mine packed up car wouldn't start at all. Vx said refit b*ggered one and get it over to them to check - if faulty they would replace FOC.  Cost of getting it to them 11 miles away - cheaper to fit another - cheating barstewards  >:(  Thats the "new" Vx customer service for you.

Well contacted them today and they ummed and arred now want me to bring it in for a check via diagnostic, if it's the crank sensor they will replace it but if not they will charge me £89, car is driveable but not sure whats the best/easiest option.

Suspect they will say it's routed wrong or some gubbins :-/
