KW didn't realise he/she was insured, just read the thread back through. So I doubt you'll need the link I provided...

Anyway I guess the Police aren't too popular here so I'll leave it there... If however you do want him/her nicked for it, then PM me... if not then good luck with it all, Steve

That's not the impression I intended to give. Just a little disappointed at their thoroughness in investigating our affairs versus the apparent apathy towards the party who has committed an offence.

Well, we'll see. Early days yet. In any case, she has comprehensive cover, protected NCD and uninsured losses recovery so getting the car fixed won't be a problem. Just annoying if her insurance has to swallow it.

The offer is much appreciated and I'll bear it in mind. If only the rear ring wasn't also in need of repair and beyond my capabilities... :(

I should hope not Zulu? Arrestable offences have been commited & the offender has neither been arrested and/or no further action has been taken. If I can help KW, I will... He has helped me out on numerous occassions.

Zulu, for the benefit of others reading this thread, please say why you think my comment might be misconstrued? I understand this was a rhetorical question but not so sure about the inference (that's inference not interference)...

Certainly 24, how can you (As in Steve) have the alleged offender 'nicked'?

fair point zulu, hadn't crossed my mind that my comment could be misconstrued in that way... KW knows I'm a paramedic, not a cop, so I was simply suggesting that KW contact me if he wanted the driver to be nicked, not inferring that I can nick anyone or have them 'nicked'  :y  p.s even if one did misunderstand my comment, they'd only have to look at my avatar to see that I live in london, KW in hampshire... so therefore different jurisdiction and not possible. hope that helps  :)

p.s. I think I said "If however you do want him/her nicked for it" meaning I might be able to give KW some helpful advice. Unfortunately encouraging people to complain, albeit a very english hobby doesn't actually get results.

I wasn't bustin' your chops really S but it's important to realize how easy it is for some to jump to the wrong conclusions on the foot of what many post here.

You rightly say that there are some on here who are plainly anti police/establishment (for their own reasons - some justified, some not) so I was waiting for adverse comment on the nature of your suggestion

Insofar as making official complaints is concerned, I'm particularly focussed on this at the moment as I perceive that there is a real cause for concern – that should be brought to light - regarding the present tendency for police officers to write off reported incidents without due investigation.

When official complaints are made a series of events are set in motion that reach far into highlighting any unsatisfactory matters concerning police conduct.
