things to make you go hhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
« on: 22 October 2010, 14:47:30 »

hey folks  :y

although new(ish - few weeks now and finding the forum a cracking resource) to OOF i'm not new to omegas, am on to my 3rd MV6 now and am a really big fan of the cars although i am wondering if i should have bought my latest  :o (probably a bit of an over the top statement as apart from the problems below it seems like a good motor)

i knew she wasn't perfect when i bought her and i'm sure the jobs aren't anything i cannot handle, my main dilemma is wondering which order to tackle them in!  ;D

some are just the usual things, like:

tyres & geometry

others are:

abs ecu
rough idling (so possibly dis/coil pack and/or plugs & leads) have found oil in the plug wells so i am going to have to do the cam gaskets as well - will see how she idles once i clean up the plugs & leads tomorrow and maybe will not need to get a dis pack  :)

she starts poorly after i had an 'incident' (that's the politest way i can describe it with the hassle it caused  ;D) starting her a couple of weeks back where the key fob separated from the blade section just as she was cranking over and kicked the immobilser in which then jammed the starter on the flywheel  >:( so possible starter motor replacement as well seeing as it's sounding a bit ropey now  :-/ just hope it hasn't buggered the ring gear  :-?

what else, erm.........let me check my list  :D

that's about it i think, once those jobs are done it'll just be cosmetic sorta stuff, new drivers' sun visor coz some numpty has cracked the mirror (that kind of thing ends up bugging me so i'll have to replace it  :D), will try to get the driver's heated seat going (tricky with it being leather but worth a punt), change the orange side repeaters for clear ones and i'd love to bodykit her (or irmscher if i can get the bits) & fit lowering springs but we'll see as time goes on with that one   ;)

i'd love to take her off the road while i sort her out but unfortunately i need to use her to get to work and back  ::)

Doesn't sound like a bad list, all new cars have things wrong that we cant live with, even if previous owner could
