i never had any problems with the omega even in 15cm of snow. i own a 2,2 dti so no tc or esp. filled up the tank, put on continental wintercontact on all 4 wheels and 3 slabs of concrete in the trunk. if you don't press the pedal to the floor you won't have any problems. i never even started in second gear, always in first, but gentle on the clutch

My omega is by far the worst car ive driven in the snow.

All over the place and gets stuck on any sort of hill that isn't a main road.

Will reducing the tyre pressure help?

My Omega's quite good in the snow & even without any weight in the boot or letting any pressure out of the tyres :)

You surely jest sir!  :o  In all my years of driving, my current MV6 estate and my previous 2.6 CDX estate, are, without question, the worst handling cars in the snow I have ever experienced. I have fitted some Winter tyres recently in an attempt to address things a little, but still not had chance to test in proper snow.

While not the best the omega is far from the worst, and if you drive it like has been suggested you can get most places.

The XF was horrendous on the compacted snow in germany but fantastic in the slush.  Have a look for Tunnie's thread about his colleague's bmw 330.

Also while driving around I have even overtaken many cars in town who were crawling along, including one prick who decided he was going to try and not be embarrased by a rear wheel drive automatic.  Despite his best efforts to make me crash the miggy handled beautifully plusa little blast of the gas with the TC off made sure he was given a good spray off slush  ;D

It's the best (reasonably modern) 2WD car I have driven in snow by far ;) ;)

Drop the tyre pressures to about 28psi (as long as you're not going to be doing any sustained high speed driving on clear roads), weight in the boot (at least 80-100Kgs) and treat the controls like your testicles are underneath them ;) ;) :y :y
