There was a Mondeo and an XF in McDonalds the other day, parked right next to each other, they're pretty much identical, and the Mondeo isn't much smaller  :-/

I don't buy this similarity thing.  Beyond having a wheel at each corner and the general proportions they are utterly different.  The interior doesn't have anything out of a generic Ford parts bin either, unless Dearborn has started fitting stuff like rising gear selectors (it's worth having one just for that!) and the like.

They are still based on the old S-TYPE platform, which was a co-development between Jaguar and Ford although that is a bit tenuous as it has been stretched and pulled around a lot for the new model and there are almost no shared components, and Ford stopped using the underpinnings a few years back.  The Mundane by the way uses a Volvo platform.

My frien has an XF.
It is nothing like Mondeo on the inside.
Luxury but the quality of the car is not that great.
He already had problems with the electronic parking brake and the ECU

Regardless of the badge on the nose I wouldn't expect that on any car if I was buying it new.

I don't really get these electronic parking brakes.  What was wrong with the handbrake lever?
