I suspect any insurance company would use it not being on the register as an excuse not to pay out...  ...remember they are always happy to take your money, never happy to pay out.

Its not on the register. :(
It suggests forwarding the certificate to them to have it put on the register. Do they send it back when theyhave done with it ? :-/
Is there any particular advantage to being on the register ? :-/
Doubt they send it back - the online register is the only official certification now.  It appears straight away as well, mine was on the register before I even collected the car from the inspection.

New inspections go straight on... as there is no other system.....  older conversions there are 2 ways .... 1) you send your certificate in and if they agree it goes on.. eventually 2) the converting garage sends in details of all the conversions they have done, these eventually hit the system.

Mine came under the second one ... after a little pushing .. :)  My converters informed me that they had sent the stuff in 4 months previously .. but the car was not on the register and insurance renewal was getting tedious...... so I e-mailed the register - with a VERY strongly worded and pointed message - and within 48 hours it was suddenly on .. :)

Had the new style Stag reducer/vapouriser delivered on Wed, the brand name is KME, it has some noticeable differences 1st is it has 2 gas outputs and thereby 2 seperate filters each I understand from a collegue of Teilo (he's away on the continent till Monday) to serve each bank on the v6 so the 1in 2out filter that came with the kit I assume will be surplus to requirement. There is also a seperate filter that locates on the gas feed pipe from the tank, just before the reducer input, I thought this item was a pressure controller of some sort by it's appearance, it's of a strong steel cast construction, and small, would almost fit in a 2"box, it has a renewable element I understand from Teilo's collegue, and has access almost like the v6 engine oil filter. The reducer itself seems quite compact although I'm not really qualified to judge,it's the 1st I've handled, all others been from pics,Phew I'm on a real learning curve, now got to get back to sorting the tank, and have a look where to locate the vapouriser later on today
