vectra Help!
« on: 16 July 2011, 04:37:29 »

A family member has a w reg vectra 1.8 hatch. The car just unexpectedly cut off (embankment, what a place), and was stranded for a hour but kept trying to start it, the engine was turning but not actually starting.
theAA was called, bloke couldnt pinpoint the problem, but mentioned what he noticed was "when the engine management light comes and stays ON the car starts/drives ok, until the moment the EML goes off kills the car with it??

this is a first i heard, so just put this up if any one else experienced similar problems and know what might be causing it! TIA Guys

Any codes?

maybe crank sensor related if you get

P1335 engine speed signal error
P0725 engine speed error

EML light problems can be EGR related

If it is the crank sensor (lets say) is it ok to go ahead with copied part or must be genuine. Either way what is a reasonable price they should be looking at for the parts an labour!
