Weight of Diff unit ?
« on: 26 August 2011, 21:04:35 »

May need to send a diff by courier, so need to know what it weighs.Havent removed it from the car yet, and its probably a bit heavy for the bathroom scales.
RobG reckoned maybe around 60kg, not sure myself. Anyone actually know ?

25 - 30 kg would be my guess.

I'll put the Sierra one I've got in the garage on mrs. KW's bathroom scales when she's not looking. Will give you an idea as it's a similar unit. ;)

Thought it would be heavier than that. If that`s the case Albs, you can remove it one-handed :y :D

Sierra diff is 25kg. Then again, it's got a cast aluminium case whereas the Omegas is cast iron IIRC?

So light! The Jag XJ40 diff I picked up is closer to 60Kg - nearly bust a gut lifting it ;D They don't make 'em like they used to, eh? ;)
