Summers generally aren't hot enough to be worth using A/C anyway

Not sure I agree. It can get pretty unpleasant in a tin top even in this country. If you've got a long journey to do it's not exactly conducive to keeping your mind on the road - or anything for that matter. Even when it's not roasting hot, and even when heating the car the air con results in fresher, less humid air which helps, I find.

My preference in such conditions is to be driving something that hasn't got a roof at all but that's not always possible. Air conditioning does at least help.

Ok town driving you can put the window down.....motorway driving is the problem.....window up and you roast on a hot day.

On a hot day even driving about town with the window down all day i find i get tired a lot quicker....aircon on i stay more refreshed for longer
