Thought I may as well take advantage of the fact it's off the road, and the fact I have a day off - to do a few jobs I've been meaning to do.
Firstly, remove airbox, remove aux belt, remove PAS pump from it's bracket and cable tie it out of the way. Ahh.. now I can get to that pesky thermostat housing that's been leaking! Removed the thermostat house - but can't get a seal from Vx. Vx want to sell me the whole stat, which I bloody well don't want! So... if I can't get a gasket, I'll bleedin well make one
Get some gasket paper, draw a template, cut out, and cut to shape. Sorted. Now fill the groove on the stat packed with sealent, and let it go off a bit. apply gasket to stat house, and then fit to car. Sorted!!

Refit PAS pump, refit aux belt, refit air box.
Tidied up a couple of cables that looked like they could have been routed a bit better.
Broken camcover removed and chucked in the bin. Nice shiny new one fitted and torqued, hopefully that'll cure the oil leak!
New oil filter fitted.
Passenger side doorcard secured (was loose). Also looked at passenger side electric window, managed to fix that (wasn't going up in it's runners properly).
Got her up in the air, had a poke about underneith, as MOT is due. Found a couple of failures which I will address, but nothing to write home about.
Cooling system and matrix flushed in all directions until it begged for mercy... and refilled with long life antifreeze 50/50 mix
Exhaust manifold removed, cleaned up, Genuine Exhaust gasket fitted, manifold fitted and torqued.
The sump is currently at a machine shop being helicoiled, so when that's ready I will refit that, (it needed sealing anyway) - refill with the FULLY SYNTHETIC oil I've treated it to - and I should be on my merry way
