You knock out the clips that fasten the flexi pipe / steel pipe union to the bracket on the swinging arm. The tap the union out of the bracket until you can slip the steel pipe through the gap in the bracket. This creates enough slack to avoid straining the flexis as you lower the subframe.

If you are changing the steel pipes it might be a good time to do it when the subframe is lowered slightly but make sure it is well supported before crawling underneath!

Can you use cunifer pipe instead of steel?
We always used to use it as being a softer alloy was easier to form round the axles etc and also a lot easier to make the fittings.

Having contacted Vx they can supply new piping @ £22 odd inc connectors so I will more than likely do the two jobs at the same time. Just sourcing a replacement set of springs then I should be good to go.

Pete with regards the springs when everything is lowered am I right to think the spring will still need compressing or is it all done when refitting everything back.

Just lower the subframe and trailing arm slightly and the spring wriggles out. Iirc you replace the spring with the 'cut' end of the bottom turn pointing rearwards.

Cheers for that pete  :)

Hopefully if I can get a pair in the coming days I shall be able to fit them.
