Interior Light
« on: 15 October 2006, 13:44:43 »

Guys

Hope someone can help with yet another problem.

My Interior light comes on and off with the doors opening / closing but it will not come on with the pull switch on lights unit.

I replaced the light control unit with a new one, any thoughts on cause?

Fuse, bad earth etc?

Thanks

Jonny

First question.

Is the passenger door operating the inetrior light when opened.

If not then check the timer delay relay which is behind the fuse box and top right (three positions available)

Only the drivers door operates the interior light, passenger door doesn't, all the spade connections are on the light, all 4 kurb lights on doors work too.

Is it the relay which has gone?

One of the relays under the steering wheel is clicking when I press drivers side door switch.

It sounds like the relay at fault......either change it or if you are any good at soldering/electronics, there is a diode inside which might have popped.
