Spec differences on GLS/CD/CDX/Elite/MV6/Sport ?
« on: 04 November 2006, 22:22:58 »

Does anyone know (or know where I can find) the significant spec differences between the various different post-facelift Omega models. I'm sad enough to have kept many car brochures in the past, but family pressures caused me to re-assess my library (i.e. my wife made me throw them out). Anyway, I'm not sure I had an post-facelift Omega one anyway.

I'm not looking for chapter and verse, just the significant bits. For instance, from recent posts, I've already learnt that cruise control is fitted on CDXs and upwards, as are Xenon headlights.

Thanks.

p.s. what's a Sport variant (I've seen a couple of these adverstised), and how does it differ from an MV6 ?

the MV6 range was discontinued around 2001/2 it was re-badged the "Sport"

No differences except a 2.2 was added to the range, but its not exactly sporty i know cause i have one!

Facelift you get:

Climate Control Standard throughout range
16" Alloys
cd player
Leccy windows all round
ABS
Power steering
Side Air bags
Trip computer

Above is basically GLS spec

CD you get GLS plus

Wood effect dash
MID - gives you info on Oil levels, coolant, washer fluid, brake lights info and so on...
Heated Front Seats
Nicer looking alloys 16"

CDX

Cruise control
Zeon Lights
Heated Rear Seats
even nicer alloys again 16"
4 CD Autochanger
Memory Seats & mirrors

MV6 is CD Spec

Silver Dash effect
Sports Seats
Traction Control
Stiffer Suspension
17" alloys

Elite is CDX spec plus:

Leather as standard on 3.0/3.2 V6
Bose Sound system
electric rear blind
parking sensors on later models i belive..

V6 Engines come with traction control as standard
Traction control not available on 2.0/2.2 engines

All spec is for FACELIFT Omega...

The fleet consists of a Singer Chamois Coupe, an Imp based kit car - BS Nymph, and a Kawasaki GPZ 900R (& a Toyota RAV4 LPG for the work horse!)

I have only been an a GLS facelift once and that was years ago! can't remember its exact spec...

So tommoynihan thats just a rough guide, don't take it as gospel!

Tips are:

Avoid base spec GLS unless it has something like LPG

CDX and above is good, and worth the extra.

Personally if i was shopping for another megga, i would prob go for a 2.6 Elite or MV6 now i know more about them.
