OK did you remove the plastic bit with ecotec on it from the plenum?
That bit is only a clip on cover, underneath is the hidden torx bolt to remove the bit the four pipes connect to from the body of the plenum so you can clean it.

Oh no, I just undid the four bolts and the other side bits, and it all came off,
quite easily actually!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  [smiley=shocked.gif]  
Are you going to tell me I've broken the hidden screw under the plastic ecotec bit?
My cars still in pieces tonight. I was going to put it back together again tomorrow, everythings in my garage, so I'll re check the plenum tomorrow,

The 4 long torx screws that hole throttle body to plenum?

did the black plastic bit with ecotec come away from metal plenum?  If so, screw missing.

If no, unclip the bit that says ecotec (be careful, as you must only take off very thin cover) to reveal a torx bolt that holds main bit of plastic to plenum...

The plastic ecotec bit will just clip off to reveal the hidden torx and no you ain't broke it but it needs to come off for cleaning.

Right put my car back together again this morning and all became clear.......

For those out there like me who are either dull  :-? or are going to be doing this chore soon, The black plastic strip down the middle of the aluminium plenum has a seperate black plastic cover on it which with a little force pops off, revealing the hidden screw.......undo this and this allows you to take off the black plastic bit with the four pipes at the end, so cleaning it through is alot easier.

For the diy mechanics out there like myself, allow a whole day for the whole task from start to finish, especially if you are doing this for the first time, and have ready, a whole can of carb cleaner or a bucket of hot soapy water, I cannot believe the amount of gunk that has come out of all these parts.....................
No wonder my rocker gaskets sprung a leak, the pressure must have been bad, due to the pipes being blocked.
