a manual really makes a big difference. The 2.5 V6 project I had was an auto, you could feel the extra power, but it was very hard to make use of it down the tight lanes. You could not do what you wanted to with it, I found myself screaming at the box saying "change GEAR!!!"

I jumped back in my 2.2 manual and found it much more livley and perky.... I am very envious ;D - A 2.5 Manual is the best combination  :y
It just needed better g/box s/w ;)

2.2 and perky are not words I'd use in same sentence ;)

Compared to a 2.5 Auto it felt perky!  ;)

I think a 3.2 manual would be a little thirsty...

I think your 2.5 had probably been neglected in its previous life, but if the g/box was not picking right gears it would bog down...

Yeah that 2.5 was not maintained well, i'd love to get my hands on a well maintained 3.0 manual...

Actually just thought.....the ICV would it be specific to a 2.5 omega....or are they generaly the same...2.0,2.5.....its just a mate has a brand new ICV boxed in his shed however its off a 2.0.?

Sorry, but the ICV on the V6 engines is different to that fitted to the 2.0.  If I recollect correctly, the ICV on the 2.0 16V is a Siemens unit (the management system on these engines is a Simtec 56.1 or 56.3) and on the V6 it is a Bosh unit the management system being a Motronic.

Hope this helps.
