V6 Exhaust
« on: 27 February 2007, 11:34:49 »

When I purchased my Meega in January, it had a brand new MOT.  The guy told me that it had to have a complete new exhaust to get it through.  It seems that he only put on a 2.6 exhaust on the car - mines a 3.2.

So the back box only has a single pipe - when it should have twin pipe.  It is twin pipe from engine until it connects to the back box.

Question is, apart from asthetically, will this make any difference?  TheBoy (hope he's reading this) managed to reset the EM light that came on once - it was recording a fault with emissions.  Could this be connected?  I'm wondering whether there could be a build up of pressure that may affect the cat in some way?

Any thoughts would be welcome.....

You will have increased exhaust gas restriction and a potentially a drop in power. There is no connection as far as the emissions are concerned.

The real world difference will be minimal....the centre sections on the 2.6 and 3.2 are the same....the only key difference will be the look and the missing pipe out the back........in theory the extra pipe will prove to be slightly less restrictive so if your realy keen...replace the back box..
