leaking injectors?

How prone are the V6's to leaking injectors?  When I started mine to come back home today it missed quite badly.  It has done this once before.  I thought maybe with the heat wave it could be leaking injectors.  The only other thing about today is that the fuel light was on, but it drove quite a ways home.  It took a minute to clear, but after that it was fine.

It has 153K.

I had it on one car.
Symptoms were difficult to start, lumpy running for few seconds and fuel smell from exhaust immediately on start-up. If throttle was opened slightly it fired up first turn but still sounded rich for a second or so. Replacement injectors cured it

OK, cheers!  Mine isn't that bad yet, but I will be ready to do a better job of checking next time.  I figured that was it, but I had the radio so loud it didn't sink in what was happening until I was already moving.  ::)

Rather than replace the injectors send them here: http://www.injectorcleaning.co.uk/. I used them once. Injectors were back in a couple of days with a before and after report, new finger filters, sealing O rings and pintle caps.

Only problem is the car's off the road for a few days. If that's a problem buy a second hand set and send them away then swap over.

Thanks.  I used a can of Forte 6 months ago, but I only got round to replacing the fuel filter recently.  It has only happened twice, so I'm not going to rush to fix it yet.

i'm sure someone breaking one can supply you the intlet/injector rail cheap if you do need to repair...

I thought I was in for a tenner with James, but 2.5L won't fit.  :(

I didn't say the 2.5 would not fit.... just that there are 2 different ones as per the stamp on the front left of the inlet manifold.

The injector flow rates will almost certainly be different between a 2.5 and a 3.0.
