knackered gearbox!

Chaps

Yet again another post ref my 2.2cd Auto Omega!

Had similar probs to Taxi Driver in past with P0700 & P1700 codes, managed to clear them & EML.

Wifey came home 2nite and said EML on again, code read it, no codes stored or pending, couldnt clear EML this time and heard clunking noises from Gearbox!

Roughly how much to change for new / quality recon box?

Hopefully request Marksdtmcalib help as I live near Nottingham!

Hopefully Mark will read this!

Dont want to get rid of meega as i spent a small fortune on it in last 6 months (£1500)

Cheers

Jonny

What's your mileage?

Have you tried the obvious i.e. ATF change and filter clean?

For V6, I think a 2nd hand (not recon) box should be £100 for reasonable mileage AR25 (which is what you prob have now) and up to £300 for low-mileage AR35... not sure though.

If the bellhouse or ratios are for the 4-pot different than the V6, the 2.2 box may be dearer because there would be less of them about and it is relatively new - V6 boxes are very easily found...

Mileage is 110k, ATF and filter changed in September along with Cam sensor and other things - cam belts etc.

Think i need to have gearbox ecu read to find fault. Nothing showing on Multi function display - EML is on but I cant read it for some reason - my Gendan Engine check software not showing MIL status as on!

This leads me to believe that its the gearbox thats stored a fault in box ecu?
