Jet Washers
« on: 27 April 2007, 20:00:25 »

Hi Folks, I have a strange problem with the passenger side washer jet (1997 Estate) It is not jetting water but if you blow it out with air the drivers side vents so therefor it is not blocked. When you then activate the washers the drivers side works and the passenegr side just dribbles and then stops. I am baffled by this and am wondering if anyone can offer sensible advice. Looking at the mounting of these jets they look like a right bugger to get at.

Had the same with mine a year ago, it turned out the supply pipe to the driver side had a slight split in it, I would suggest checking the feed pipe to the side you are having probs with. :y

Have a look under the bonnet while you're opperating the washers. I had Senator where the heated washer nozzle had expanded due to internal corrosion and I had more water escaping from under the bonnet than out of the washer nozzle itself.

Had a similar problem on 1998 elite saloon...turned out the end of the washer jet had bust and when the washer was engaged water poured out from under the bonnet..only found out when had bonnet up and wife in car operating the technical bit !!!sounds similar problem as barely any water was coming out the other jet..hope that helps..might just need a new jet...bit pricey if heated type

Yes it is a heated type, but how on earth do you get it out? The jet is mounted in a section of bonnet with a double skin, a hole the size of a 50p is all you get for access to the back of the jet.

Depress the plastic tag on either side of the washer underneath the bonnet.
