coolent level

Hi today while out and about my mid stated that the coolentlevel was low but after checking the resevour its at normal level??

Any ideas??

The sensor in the bottle can clog up (small float in the middle) but usually it's the connections underneath the expansion bottle.

Yes, check the float in bottle is crudded (if it is, what is rest of coolant system like?), but most likely a knackered switch under the bottle caused by coolant spillage by a kakhanded mechanic. New switch is part of bottle, and not available seperately

And is about 40 squid......i know, mine is knackered too..... :(

Mrs AA asked why my mid was showng coolant level.....when AA was taxi'ing me and her goodself around  ::)

maybe see if they have any at the local scrappers as i have a mega vaux just up the road

You'll find the scrap yard header tank is likely to be as bad or not far off as your old tank. A new one is more like £30 and when fitted looks the dogs danglies compared to the original dirty 'oribble brown tank. Definately worth putting your hand in your pocket for a new 'un.  ;)
