Lowering springs finally fitted
« on: 17 June 2007, 23:12:57 »

After much discussion (http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1179172034 and worry about going lower I finally fitted a set of Eibach springs today.

As an update to the guys in the previous thread the resuls are that the front is down by about 40mm (all measurements taken from the point of the bumpers at the wheel arch) and the back is down by a modest 10 mm. The drop at the arches is pretty visible but the main worry was for the tow bar height which is about 5 - 10mm higher due to the front being slightly lower than expected. All measurements were taken with the self levelling disconnected so in theory it should still function as designed but we'll see what happens once the springs settle and the caravan is hooked up in a couple of weeks.

Its been an expensive week with the last service being carried out at a garage for the warranty (now expired thankfully) along with an MOT which had the drop links, the brakes and a wheel bearing as advisories but these have all been changed now so should be okay for a while.

Last work for the time being is the geometery set up tomorrow so I'll see how that goes.

Thanks for all the help in getting this far though.

Steve
