Thin vacuum pipes??
« on: 23 June 2007, 20:57:53 »

Im back, more bad news  :'( fixed the blowing in my car completly now, turned out to be a blowing passenger side downpipe connection at the back of the manifold, tho the sound seemed to be from the drivers side  :-? Anyway, got home thought i'd tidy the engine up a bit and :
1.. Bonnet wouldnt open unless me mrs pushed down on bonnet while I pulled the cable pull (naff bonnet release??)

2.. discovered the remains of 3 thin melted vacuum pipes leading in from the rear of the passenger side bank, cant for the life of me work out where they went originally, but look important and knowing my bad look probably are, getting replacement pipe is no probs but need help knowing where each pipe likes to call home please.... attached an edited pic that i found from net to help :

That'd be super Tim thanks..... the pipes have melted on the secondary injection valev by the looks of things, and the remaining bits arnt long enough to follow to a target hose connectors, the rate im finding and fixing probs, im gonna have a fully re-built engine  ;D not something I intended on when I bought her.

In the Maintenence Guides section is info on the vac pipes :)

The bonnet cable can be adjusted - remove plastic cover in front of battery, and you will see clamp.

OK think I know where to stick the hoses as soon as I get them, is it fair to say the car will feel a bit more stronger on accelerating when they are re-connected?

If the multirams are affected, it will feel better.

Yeah that was just a photo I pinched from a google search (slap myself for stealing) - will take a photo of my motor in a bit and stick it in my avatar if I can and bung a pic of my engine on this posting so you can see  :P
