Missfiring at 5200RPM
« on: 12 July 2007, 16:19:43 »

Hello i hope that someone may be able to help me on this anoying but not to serious problem.... :o

I have a 2,5 V6 at about 5200RPM or at about 130 the engine starts to missfire, or at least it feels like it, and does`nt pull any more if i pull off the throttle it stops :-/

Now i have only had the car for 2 weeks, and as the previous owner was an elderly lady i think that she probably never went over 50 so.......... could it be possible that the engine just needs a bit of blowing out or does anyone think that they have another possibility  Oh by the way the car has just been serviced so the air filter and plugs are new, cam belt is new water pump cylinder head gasket etc
Thanks
Steve

Yes thats a possibility i don`t know if that has been changed.
But would that not happen then any amount of revs ?

I think to be on the safe side i will change the fuel filter can`t do any harm, although should they not have done that as part of the service?

Yet to find a garage (inc main dealers Major service) that does it without asking...
