coolant flush
« on: 30 July 2007, 17:52:44 »

I am just doing coolant flush and change. The water is really rusty looking. I have flushed 3 times and still rusty. If I leave the bleed tap open and refill it runs clear. So obviously the rust is through the system.

Shall I just keep flushing until it runs clear? Also there is a metallic tinkle somewhere mid enigine. Is this likely to be water pump or does cambelt tensioner make this type of noise?

I hasten to add that both are being done this week :y

Possibly worth taking the radiator pipes off, flush and reverse flush seperate to the engine... if it's gonna clog anywhere... this and the heater matrix are the place..

you can only get half coolant out on v6, unless you remove pump.  do the full flush when you're doing that...
