3 Button Key Fob
« on: 09 August 2007, 16:39:21 »

My Key Fob is starting to look alittle grubby and the rubber is going in place's and the buttons are not working first time all of the time. So been thinking about getting a newer 3 button Key Fob.

My Question is can i just swap my key onto a new fob with out the need of a Tech2 I think I remember about putting the key in the Ign and turning it and leaving for a lenth of time.

Is That All I would Need To Do with Replacing just the Key Fob ?

I'd just replace the casing, keeping the electronics from the old fob. No farting about with Tech 2 then. You can even transplant the buttons with a bit of care and a solering iron if they're looking tired.

What type of fob do you have (on the plate on the back?) Delphi or Megamos T-AM?

I have just brought a second hand remote one of the later type with the two rectagular raised sections and took the old type with the two rounded bumps which was getting tatty and have just swapped the insides around  with no problems

If you use the internals out of your old one, not probs...  ...if you want to use the new internals, you'll need to see me or MDTM, and will need carpass and V5.
