MID spurious displays?
« on: 10 August 2007, 14:50:30 »

yet another thing to go wrong with my tractor, although in fairness it has been doing this on and off over the last so many months.

I am driving along usually with the display showing how hot it is outside. then suddenly the display shows any of the following plus some others

Top up coolant (or similar)
Brake pads
oil level
Headlight tailight etc etc

They aren't actually correct cos I do check these things regularly and you can get rid of it by pressing the button on the stalk. I am living with it but am interested what the problem is and is it common? Faulty MID unit maybe? Are they expensive 2nd hand?

If it's a fault i don't know, but second hand they are not easy to get hold off....

I have been searching for 4 months now, bought 3 and all as bad as the first one...

I know they are £300 new, and can go for as much as £100 on ebay....

Might just need re flashing, if so there are people on here who can do it, if it has a grey plug, mine is yellow and cant be done.

Not much help but, you never now.

Thanks, Mark.  :y

One of the connectors on the back is loose, plug it in properly.

Yup, I'd say one of the 2 connectors isn't fully seated...
