Clock / temp display light problem
« on: 16 August 2007, 14:46:22 »

Heres one.

Last night the light that illuminates the clock and temp display started playing up.  When the car is started it lights up fine but if i turn the headlights on and then back off the lights for the clock also go out so I can't see it.  Only way to get them back on is to turn the engine off and restart it.

Only a very minor niggle but still an annoying one.

Anyone got any ideas on where to start looking.

Do the dash lights do likewise?

Have you replaced the radio recently?

There was an aftermarket radio already fitted when i bought the car although I did have to pull it out last weekend as the aerial socket had worked its way out.

The dash lights stay lit when the clock has gone out.

It may be worth you pulling the radio out from the hole and then trying the lights then as you may have caught/trapped a wire when putting it back in its easy to do  :-[
