Rams dont work
« on: 19 August 2007, 10:43:34 »

Hi,

Loo Knee just been down mine to help me with my oil leak (on another post). But we have found that both dual rams dont work.

Any ideas why this would be?

The one at the back of the engine doesnt open with a blip or the one at the front doesnt work at 4k rpm either.

The breathers dont seem to be blocked either

You need to start by checking all the vac pipes.....does your car have the front mounted vac tank (on the bottom of the inlet trumpets)?. If so, then make sure that the vac connctions are the right way round with the feed on the right and the output on the left.

Yes Mark it has the Vac Tank on the bottom left of the engine bay, both connections sort of wobble when you touch them at the Vac Tank but seem to be attached..

Told Matt about the diagram you have put in the Maintance Section to follow to make sure the pipes are going to the correct place.

Ok I have printed out the route of the Multi Ram Pipes and will go back down Matt's to see if its right...
But say it is all right could the Vac Tank not be working? If so, if i connect the two pipes to bypass the Vac Tank should Both Multi Rams start to work?

There is a test to do to check that the Vac Tank is working, Elite Pete was telling me earlier but have the attention span of a goldfish ;D
