Cruise Cable damaged Damn Ebay Sellers
« on: 31 August 2007, 09:02:33 »

I finally got the cruise control unit yesterday after waiting 3 weeks with excuses from the seller about personal problems so i gave him a bit of leway and waitied
and when it finaly arrived Oh suprise Surprise the end of the cable that attaches to the throttle body was snapped off Ahhhhhh
Also to make matters worse when picking it up from the Royal Mail sorting office it was pack cars parked every where and my own fault backed my car in to a 2 foot high bollard, Doh i have not had chance to but the rear parking sensors on yet guess that would of been a good time to have them.

Someone said that a 4 pot engine has a different size actuator cable than the V6 I dont think this is true as i tried to see if the one i have would fit and the lenth seams fine. I can understand why things like Vectras would need a longer actuator cable as the engine is in side ways and the throttle body is much further away than one an Omega, the throttle body on a 4 pot is about the same distance as a V6

Right I dont want to send this back to the seller as with P&P it will end up being about 8 pounds i get back whats the point.
Can i get just a replacment plastic end or does it only come as full cable which costs about 55 pounds.

Looks like a bit of JB weld would fix it if you've got the other bit.

Failing that have a rummage through the brake/gear cable bits at the local bicycle shop.

When I won paypal dispute for my cranklock kit being out of shape, the seller had to refund all my postage costs too... all done by paypal, and came back into my account..
