engine rattling

i have got a rattle from my engine at around 2500 rpm
dont sound too good any ideas
its a 3.0 mv6

Without wanting to be too flippant, it could just about be anything from terminal death rattle to a loose screw vibrating as noises are really difficault to type....

Is it when accelerating/decelerating, lots of electical load or not, aircon on or not, when last oil change etc etc....

If poss, how about recording it on a mobile phone, for instance, and posting up on Photobucket so we could listen??   :y

(my bet is the exhaust heat shields being loose..... ;) )

mainly when accelerating sound awfully like bottom end but would that only happen at 2500 plus
sound perfect up till then has had oil change about 2000 mls ago

yep..may have resonance in that rev range.
