There's no button on there that determines whether you can play copied CDs or not. Are you trying the same CD that you used to be able to play or a different one of a different brand?

Try cleaning the head with a CD cleaner disc.

Try a better quality or different make of recordable CD.

Try burning the CD at the lowest speed.

My stereio plays CDRs fine. Apparently 'Imation' brand CDRs are known to work - mine are mostly Kodak, Imation and Samsung I think.

They are fussy CD players.  Obviously, only play true audio cds, no MP3 etc.

I found Verbatim to be about the best.  Get from www.svp.co.uk

While we're on the subject of the CCR2006 - save me starting a new topic, can anyone suggest what I might have done to my stereo.

CD was working fine, had a problem with the volume knob.  Tried to get the stereo out, levering the bottom through the CD aperture with my fingers and the tape deck.  Was using quite a bit of force.  Never did get the stereo out.  Have ordered a couple of the wire clips from ebay and will try again.  Anyway...

pushed the stereo back home and now when I put the magazine in, on the display, when I try to play a CD, I get the message "Magazine".

I didn't touch the magazine in the time it took me to break my CD player so I'm wondering if anyone is able to tell me what inside the stereo, tells it the magazine has been inserted.

Here's hoping...

most likely busted the cd mech, they are fragile.

btw, you will never get a stereo out without the keys (proper or improvised) to push in the latches.

Well....well....well....

After lots and lots of fiddling, I finally got the CD player working again YIPPEE  :D

Somehow, by inserting the magazine while at the same time holding down the eject button, something inside the CD player clicked and then the computer came up with something like check CD4 then 3 then 2 then 1 then LOAD 1 followed by.....playing CD!!!

Happy boy indeed-dee-doo-dah
