Heated wing mirror and Door lock
« on: 13 December 2007, 12:41:23 »

So one of my wing mirror heater has packed in, assuming the circuit/fuse is ok as other mirror and rear window still heat up nicely so thought it would probably be the heating element? I have a spare one so is it difficult to swap them out?

Also the driver's door lock seems to stick when using the fob, works OK when opening with the key but when using the remote gets stuck, do you think it needs lubrication or a motor change.

and on the note of lubrication whats the best stuff to lubricate the doors with, bit creaky when opening :o

Thanks

driver's door could be motor attempting to fail, but occasionally the cold weather can be enough to annoy them, mine's had the same problem, however the fob worked fine this morning when the actual keyhole had froze :D

not too sure on the mirror problem

door creaking could be the first stage towards the "crack of doom", but this is a dirt cheap and easy fix, others will be along to help (and correct me ;D) soon enough

Could just be a loose connection on the back of the mirror where the cables plug in. Certainly worth removing the glass, pulling the connectors off and giving the contacts a good clean. Well that usually fixes heated mirror problems on the TVR so I assume something similar might work here.

Ok,

Will give that a try, just to check how easy does the mirror come off, don't want to damage the motor inside or anything  :o
