2 post ramp
« on: 24 December 2007, 11:02:41 »

Just an idea kicking about in my mind, but are there any members in or near to Chesterfield/Bolsover/Mansfield who has space for a 2 post ramp? Toying with buying one but I have no space for it. Providing that I could use it some weekends, we could also hire it out to members.

Just an idea at the moment  ;)

Was thinking it'd be really nice to have one of these in the garage the other day, but I'm not exactly convenient for you :(. Have a fairly high roof in the garage and just about enough width, I reckon. Mrs. KW would probably moan as it would make it less easy to get her car in :-/

They do seem to come up on ebay fairly often. Not sure what foundations are required to support them though. :-/ Do they generally need 3 phase power too?

I found a shop on the net that sells them brand new for 2K. They do a one phase and a three phase. Supprisingly the three phase was the cheaper one.

I'm not sure what foundations are needed. The lift capacity is 4 tons... And, you definately need an undretanding wife  ;D

There's this one for under £1500 inc vat. 230v and 415v options available.

I've signed up for evening classes at the local college so I get to use the lifts there. £45 for 9 weeks at a time. Slightly cheaper option but not so convenient.
