have to agree with others, why on earth would you want to put a 'race' look wheel in?

You reducing the saftey if you have a crash, just for that sporty looking steering wheel??

Its fine in something like a Nova which does not have airbags, but in a modern car its going to look as right as a £9.76 bank note!

Have you ever seen some one that has had a head on smash at 50-60 mph, it's just like hitting a solid object at 100 -120 mph. No Saftey products help you, you died. Air bags are good for anything up to 40 ish but after that it's out of your hands, all this "NCAP" stuff is just like two vehicles hitting each other at 20 mph and I've fallen off my push bike at that speed more than once, at that speed you should be able to miss each other  :o How many saftey products are on say a "2002 TVR Cerbera 4.5 Lieghtwieght " Ebay Item number: 260196082646 Safety Features:  Alarm   :-? :-? :-?

A resistor is enough to fool the system.

The insurance company will use the fact that you have purposely disabled vital safety systems.  The car's safety rating (which has an effect on premiums) is based of factory safety systems.

Not sure if its a myth, but I have heard of people saying that insurance companies not fully paying out if passenger side disabled (some cars allow you to do this), and an adult in the passenger seat...

As an utter minimum, contact insurance company and ask the question (and if no change to premium, get that in writing)

So back to my original post 14 replys ago, saftey systems are in place to increase the chances of surviving a smash, and the insurance co will make there quote on the system installed. I know that if i was to have an accident then i know it would rather be in the omega than the mk2 escort or mk3 cortina that i had many moons ago. Please remember folks, that at the end of the day it is a piece of metal and MORE importent is your LIFE and the LIFES of your loved ones and other people and there loved ones that we should be thinking of, not a bloody steering wheel and disconnecting saftey systems.
